I thought it would be a good idea to tie in my blog with the newsletter that I send to all my subscribers. So just like a newsletter this is an update on all the things that happened in March!
I got the news that I was accepted into SPX! Otherwise known as the Small Press Expo held just up the street from where I live. I invited my friend Jade to table with me so it should be a great experience all around! I'm already developing a list of things I need to reorder and new things that I want to produce for the event. Luckily it's not until September so I have some time to prepare.
One new product I'm going to receive in the mail any day now has nothing to do with the Incomplete but I'm excited about it regardless! It's an enamel pin I got made and it's literally just a potato chip with a face and the word "salty" written on it. Because we all have those moments where we get super salty about life right? Well now there's a pin to express all your salt. Here's the vector image I sent to the production warehouse. Can't wait to see it in full pin form!
I'm also excited to share my newest Speshul Snooflake addition! This will be installment #3 and it explores the special and somewhat dysfunctional relationship I have with my bunny Eevee. Be the first to check it out in this blog post and on the Speshul Snooflake page!
I've had so much fun drawing these! They're really fun but I realize I've become so used to the antics that happen in my daily life that I don't grasp how funny they are to people that aren't me. The relationship I have with my teenage bun is a perfect example of that. Here's a picture of the would be Regina George herself:
Her as a baby
Her as a tyrant
Anyway! There are a lot of things going on with me art wise. Most of my followers/friends already know but I lost my job a month ago and have been using the time to art it up as much as possible. I'm still job searching and I have my fingers crossed for a design position with Crumbs and Whiskers the local (and first ever!) cat cafe in DC. You should definitely check them out if you have a chance! Especially if you're in the market to adopt a fluff friend of the feline persuasion.
